I received Zak's first report card today. I am super proud! I hope all future report cards look this good - and yes, I promise I won't share all of his future report cards.
When I discussed the report card with Zak, he was a little annoyed that Ms. Janelle cut off his counting at 110. He "knows he can count to at least 3,000".

Mother's Tea Party with Ava
Last week, I attended a Mother's Tea Party with Ava at her preschool. Ava was super excited for her special day. It was also her very first "program" ever. She did awesome!

SANIBEL ISLAND VACATION!!!
Thursday, April 4-
Michelle, Zak and Ava all have sore throats and are running low-grade fevers, but we decide to head to Florida nonetheless.
Our flights are delayed, but finally land in Ft Myers, just in time to go to bed.
Friday, April 5 -
Michelle, Zak and Ava still feel miserable, but that is okay because it is rainy outside and we couldn't have done much anyway. We decide to drive around the area and get a scope of the land. We take advantage of a short break in weather and let Zak and Ava have their first experience of Ft. Myers Beach.
We also find our way to a local Citrus Shop. Zak and Bob eat a ton of oranges, peaches, etc. Ava and I observe and lament at the large quantities of fructose that surround us.
Saturday, April 6 -
The sickies are feeling a little better and the weather is gorgeous. We make our first trip to Sanibel Island.
The absolute highlight of the day is when a dolphin swims near Bob and Zak for around 30 minutes. It was so awesome!
That evening, we played Putt-Putt (Zak's only request for the vacation) and fed alligators from fishing poles.
Sunday, April 7 -
After eating at Nervous Nellies, We embark on a dolphin tour. Zak and Ava both get a turn at driving the boat. Zak gets to help the shipmate retrieve crab traps. Afterwards, we hang out at "Times Square" and Ft. Myers beach for the remainder of the day.
Monday, April 8 -
We head back to Sanibel Island. This time, we ventured even further into Captiva Island. Pure paradise.
Tuesday, April 9th -
We spend the day at Manatee Park, Lakes Park and The Shell Factory.
That evening, we head back to Captiva Island to watch an amazing sunset. This is also the night that Michelle gets eaten alive by no-see-ums (aka sandflies and biting midges). Ava also starts complaining of an earache.
Wednesday, April 10 -
Ava declares her ears cured, so we make a final trip to Sanibel Island. Zak also makes friends with a fisherman and gets to touch a shark that he caught.
Within a couple hours, we realize that Ava's ears are not cured. Michelle and Ava spend the afternoon at an Urgent Care Center while Bob and Zak swim at the hotel. Ava was diagnosed with a double ear infection :(
Thursday, April 11 -
We head home to KCI. Zak and Ava enjoyed the trip, but were thrilled to get back home.
