Only 8.5 more months...

8.5 months until Zak starts Kindergarten.

Today, Zak had his 5 year checkup at the doctors office.  Before the appointment, I prepared Zak with the fact that he would be receiving his kindergarten shots.  He bravely accepted the task.

Throughout his appointment, he was sure to let the receptionist, nurses and doctor know that he would soon be going to kindergarten.

Time has flown by so quickly these first 5 years, but today it seemed to take another giant leap forward.          Is this really happening?  Are we really talking about Kindergarten already?  Am I really putting Kindergarten roundup and enrollment on my calendar already?  Am I already holding the immunization  record that I will need to hand over to the school district?

'T' is for Turkey

For Thanksgiving, Zak's preschool class prepared a Thanksgiving Feast and presented a program for the parents and siblings.

Zak and his classmates prepared homemade cornbread for the feast.  We also had popcorn and apple juice.  Before we ate, they shared what the had been learning about the first Thanksgiving.  I learned all kinds of new things - or at least relearned parts that I had forgotten.

Next, his class performed various relay races.  Zak was super excited to not drop any candy corn during the candy corn relay!

Zak's part in the program was to be an indian named Red Fox.  He had the first line in a Thanksgiving poem.  His part was "T is for Turkey, on Thanksgiving Day".  He performed it magnificently.

The program ended with Zak's class singing a handful of Thanksgiving songs.

On a side note...would someone please inform all schools and recreational programs that the lighting in gymnasiums in inadequate for quality photos/videos of any sort.

Fall is Here

Mom?  Do you know how I know it's fall time?  It's because the leaves are changing colors and falling off the trees.  - Zak

We have been out and about enjoying this special time of year.

Us at the Dunn Cider Mill.  We aren't cider fans, but we like cider donuts.

Fall field trips included the Faulkner Pumpkin Patch and James A Reed Nature Center

When Ava saw that Ms. Angela was dressed as Snow White, she was truly AWESTRUCK.  That girl has a major thing for princesses.
I drive my kids crazy with pictures, but seriously...the background doesn't get any better than this
