In an attempt to make Zak as OCD as I am, we make a calendar each month. Disappointed that his birthday was still no where in sight, today Zak asked me to make a 65 day calendar. This way the birthday countdown can begin. For those of you not familiar with our labeling system...
Green circles = dad doesn't have to go to work
Orange squares = dad only works a 1/2 day
Blue books labeled with an "S" = Storytime at the library
Pink crayons = preschool day
Green church = Moppette days
Cake with 4 candles = ZAK'S BIRTHDAY!!!

Ok - maybe Zak and I are a little too excited about preschool starting. Today, we made a practice run to the school and took a few pictures. Zak will meet his teacher on Friday. Tuesday will be his first day. It's all he and I can talk about.

We visited the Rainforest exhibit at Crown Center this morning. Zak and Ava had a great time. It was fun to go with some of our neighbor friends. Regrettably, the flash on my camera was turned off. We might have to go back before the exhibit leaves town.

Zak is full of encouraging words this week. On a blustery day, he told me "Don't worry, you won't blow away. You weigh too much." And yesterday when he was watching me put my contacts in, he said "I don't have contacts because I'm not old. My eyes still work good." Thanks Zak. I love you.

We had so much fun at the City Park in Harrisonville last week. They have 7! playgrounds, a lake, and a train all in one park. They also have a really cool Downtown area that is close. It was a fun family outing. Of course the real reason we went to Harrisonville was for Mazzio's.

"Hear a funny sound." This is what we hear from Ava at least 10 times a day. Every time she hears any sound she isn't expecting, she "hears a funny sound". She says it when an airplane flies by, when a car beeps, when the washing machine is going, even if someone drops something.
