Do you like snakes?

They say that children learn from repetition and take comfort in predictable outcomes.

Ava: Here comes a snake.
Mom: Ahghah!
Ava: Mom, do you like snakes?
Mom: No.
Ava: Dad, do you like snakes?
Dad: Yes, I like snakes.
Ava: Zak, do you like snakes?
Zak: Yes, I like snakes.
Ava: Dad likes snakes. Zak like snakes. Ava likes snakes. Mom doesn't like snakes.

If you repeat the above conversation twice an hour for a period of 14 days, you will relive my past couple of weeks. I love that girl, but let's move on already!

Apples

We visited Wagon Wheel Orchard today in Gardner, KS. It was the first time any of us have gone apple picking. This particular orchard sets up appointments for picking, so we had the entire orchard to ourselves. We had a great time learning about apples and collecting some tasty fruit. We plan to make some applesauce and apple juice tomorrow - YUM!

Pumpkins

We visited our first "pumpkin patch" of the season. Don't tell Zak and Ava, but really we just took them to a lawn and garden store. The $0 admission fee was more tolerable than the $8 admission fee that the true pumpkin patches charge!
