Ava attended a trial gymnastics class tonight. She did very well and had a great time. Unfortunately, most of our gymnastic-y pictures turned out blurry. I didn't realize until after we left, that Bob had turned the picture taking responsibility over to Zak.

Zak thinks all learning happens at camps. After attending basketball and soccer camp, he now wants to go to golf camp, fishing camp, skateboarding camp and rhyming camp.
Zak figured out a while back how to play his father, but I wasn't expecting it from Ava yet. After denying her request for more fruit snacks, she promptly went to Bob and said "More fruit snacks please, Mommy said no".

Heartbreak at our house this morning. I broke the news to Zak that our next door neighbor was moving. He cried and cried and cried. I felt so bad.

Oh no! Not another one. Zak has become a kid's meal toy critic. After playing with a new toy today, he offered up the following suggestions. 1. They should have made more wheels on this car that go round and round (the lack of functional wheels on the vehicle was a big disappointment to him). 2. They should have made it so the guys could go in the car (the toy car came with 2 characters - neither of which can be placed inside the car). Bob was so proud.

Bob took the day off today and we headed to Worlds of Fun. Despite the heat, we had a great day. At one point, Zak told us "This is a really cool day for me".

Monkey see, Monkey do. These days Ava copies everything that Zak does. She wants to say whatever he says, eat whatever he eats and play however he plays. Thankfully, Zak appreciates her mimicking. I suspect that won't last forever.

Recently, Zak has been offended when I offer him a regular teaspoon to eat with. He knows there are larger tablespoons in the drawer - why do I keep giving him a baby spoon?

We started Ava on a lactose-free diet (or at least lactose minimization diet). She has been incredible happy the last few days. She has done more giggling, hugging, smiling and playing than ever before. It may just be a coincidence, but it appears that we have determined what was affecting her mood. I'm so happy that she is happy!
